LANDSCAPE DESIGNERS

Landscape Designers are passionate artists with extensive design, drafting, and hands-on gardening experience. Landscape designers are excellent listeners and can render your garden dreams and concepts on pen and paper so you can 'see' what the garden might look like. These hand-drafted or computer-drawn landscape designs will be used by specialist landscapers and nurseries to install and maintain your garden.

With a degree from the Rhode Island School of Design in Fine Art and a degree in science from Delaware Valley College in Environmental Landscape Design and Ornamental Horticulture, she is well qualified to design a landscape for you. She also has more than 30 years of gardening experience. She has worked on designs for townhouses and estates with pools, cabanas and formal gardens. Landscape Design with Native Plants

Learn the basics of landscape design from a professional! Develop a landscape plan of your own during this 4-part course with landscape designer Beverly Auvil. The design process will be broken down into bite-sized pieces for a delicious and fun experience. Design options will be discussed and supplemented with handouts. You will even get time with Beverly to discuss your ideas, ask questions, and get suggestions. Part I will be an introduction to basic hand drafting skills; Part II will be dedicated to the built environment, including walkways, patios, decks, walls, trellises and fences; Part III will focus on native plant selection and placement; and Part IV will address the finishing touches.

This program will take place from 10 am – 2 pm on Saturdays 1/14, 1/28, 2/11 and 2/25, at Bowman’s Hill Wildflower Preserve. The fee for the series of four courses is $120 for Preserve members and $160 for non-members.

Bowman’s Hill Wildflower Preserve is located at 1635 River Road (PA Rt. 32) about 2.5 miles south of New Hope, Pennsylvania and convenient to I-95.
